-July 2014 My 1st Depo shot (I have been on some form of birth control since I was a teenager to help “regulate my cycles” and to decrease the pain I experience during my periods).
-October 2015 My last Depo shot. Thank the Lord!
-July 2014-June 2016 I didn’t have any periods. I spotted in July 2014 and then nothing after that. Why was I not concerned about this?!
-January 2016 We stopped using all forms of protection. If it happens, yay!
-May 14, 2016 We got married!! So much joy on this day. We thought we would surely be pregant soon after and couldn’t wait for it to happen. After all we had not been preventing since before the wedding. We had no idea what God had in store for us.
-June 2016 I finally got my period back. They were and still are extremely irregular, though.
-June 2016-October 2016. We tried to get pregant, but we weren’t really tracking things super close. We were just having fun and thought it would happen.
-November 2016 My first real appointment with my OB. She asked us to start tracking closely. We wrote everything down. The days we had intercourse, every negative and postive ovulation test, my periods, etc.
-March 2017 I went back to the doctor and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Our job now was to find a way to change the unexplained into a reason.
-March 2017 We started our work-up. It was time to get some more testing done and to see if we could pin down the reason.
-March 22: Phillip had a semen analysis and it came back normal. Yay!
-March 23: I had blood work to test my FSH; Estradiol; and TSH (hormones necessary for pregnancy). All of these came back normal. Yay!
-March 29: I had an HSG (hysterosalpingography) to test if my Fallopian tubes where open. The results were that the left tube was blocked, but the right tube was clear. This was upsetting, but we do still have one tube open. That’s a plus.
-April 2017 I had more blood work done to check my progesterone level. The results of this test were lower then what the doctor wanted to see.
-April 2017- Currently my cycles are still very irregular. Using our OPK’s (Ovulation Predictor Kits), we are thinking that I am ovulating around day 18/19, and there have even been cycles where I have ovulated on day 23 or later. Most of my cycle lengths are anywhere from 35-42 days long with most of them closer to 42 days. I’m experiencing long luteal phase lengths of around 22 days.
-April 19th 2017- Doctor prescribed 200mg of progesterone for the next cycle to see if we can get that up. Then we will be adding Clomid with the progesterone to the cycle after that and for the next three cycles.
